Professor Masafumi Yohda is a distinguished molecular biotechnologist whose research integrates biochemical engineering, molecular biology, and proteomics. He is a Professor at the Division of Biotechnology and Life Science, Institute of Engineering, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), Japan. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Tokyo and began his career at AGC Inc. and the RIKEN Institute before joining TUAT.
Prof. Yohda’s pioneering studies on protein folding, molecular chaperones, and cellular stress responses have advanced understanding of protein quality control systems. His current work in biosociety engineering combines molecular science with biotechnological innovation for sustainable and health-focused applications.
