Dr. Ahmad Zakiyuddin is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (UI), where he also serves as Department Secretary and research faculty at the Research Center for Biomedical Engineering. He earned his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Chonnam National University, Republic of Korea.
His research focuses on corrosion and surface engineering, biodegradable metallic materials, and biomaterials for medical implants. With expertise in electrochemical corrosion analysis, magnesium alloys, and bioactive surface coatings, he has published in leading journals such as Ceramics–Silikaty, Physica Scripta, and the Journal of Materials Research and Technology. Dr. Zakiyuddin’s current work advances corrosionresistant and biofunctional materials for next-generation implantable devices, fostering innovation in biomedical materials and engineering.
