Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arif

Dr. Muhammad Arif is an Associate Professor at the University of Gothenburg and a Data-Driven Life Science (DDLS) Fellow and Group Leader at SciLifeLab, Sweden. He earned his Ph.D. in Systems Biology from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and SciLifeLab, following degrees from KTH and Institut Teknologi Bandung. His research focuses on data-driven systems biology, multi-omics, and machine learning to study cardiometabolic diseases and aging.

Dr. Arif has published over 60 peer-reviewed papers with more than 6,500 citations, and received awards such as the NIH Summer Mentor Award (2022). He has also secured SEK 17 million (€1.5 million) in research funding through the Data-Driven Life Science Fellowship supported by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.
